About Kickboxing
Kickboxing adds leg techniques on top of the boxing workshop, and that single difference changes the character of the session: load spreads from the arms to the hips and legs, balance comes into play and the calorie burn rises. The corporate version is, like boxing, entirely non-contact — kicks and punches go into pads or a bag, and there is no opponent.
Boxing or kickboxing?
The decision follows the team's fitness profile. Boxing is upper-body led and its tempo is easy to control; it is the starting point for teams new to this kind of workshop. Kickboxing needs hip and leg flexibility, requires balance and tires people faster. It is the right choice for teams that are fit, used to training or have already done a boxing session. If in doubt, start with boxing; kickboxing becomes the second session or a later week of the programme.
Session flow
- Warm-up and mobility (10 min). No kicking before hips and knees are opened; this part is never skipped.
- Punch sequence (10 min). The base shared with boxing: stance, jab, cross.
- Kick techniques (15 min). Front kick and low roundhouse; high kicks are not taught in corporate sessions, the injury risk is unjustified.
- Pad combinations (20 min). Punch–kick sequences into pads held by the instructor; impact adjusted per person.
- Bag station and cool-down (10 min).
For a visiting group
Kickboxing is a good fit for a team that trains regularly and wants something more demanding than a walking tour on a free afternoon in Istanbul. It needs a studio rather than a hotel room because of the kicking space, so we arrange a studio close to the hotel and transfers. Everything — gloves, wraps, shin guards, pads — is provided; participants bring trainers and flexible clothing only. The instructor runs the session in English.
Venue and equipment
A studio is the ideal venue: soft floor, bags and mirrors. If it is done at the office it needs more space than boxing — at least 4 m² per person for kicking distance and margin. Gloves, wraps, shin guards and pads are supplied by us; participants need trainers and flexible clothing. On carpet or parquet the session can be done barefoot, depending on the studio's preference.
Safety
The most common problem in kickboxing is not the wrist but the knee and groin: a roundhouse kick without warm-up and a wrong pivot. That is why the instructor corrects the pivot foot for every participant individually and high kicks are not part of the programme. A health declaration is requested from anyone with knee, back or hip conditions, who are given a light sequence of punches and front kicks only. Alcohol before the session is strictly prohibited.
Programme options
A single taster workshop (60–75 minutes) is built as a component of a company event or as an after-work session. A weekly 6–8 week programme progresses with the same group and makes fitness gains measurable — a format for a local team, which can be combined with corporate fitness packages. Because it makes people sweat, it is not recommended before a business dinner or between meeting sessions.
Frequently asked questions
Is kickboxing harder than the boxing workshop?
Yes. Leg techniques need hip and knee flexibility, require balance and tire people faster. It is the right choice for fit teams or teams that have done a boxing session before; for a team new to this kind of workshop we recommend starting with boxing.
Is there any contact?
No. Kicks and punches go into pads held by the instructor or into a bag; there is no opponent and no sparring. High kicks are not taught in corporate sessions either.
What about employees with knee or back conditions?
A health declaration is requested, and those participants are given a light sequence of punches and front kicks only; roundhouse kicks and pivot work are removed from their programme. The instructor sets this individually at the start of the session.
Can it be done at the office or hotel?
Yes, but it needs more space than boxing: at least 4 m² per person for kicking distance and margin. Above eight people a studio is the better venue, and for a visiting group we arrange a studio close to the hotel with transfers.
What equipment is needed?
Gloves, wraps, shin guards and pads are supplied by us. Participants need trainers and flexible clothing only, so nobody has to travel with kit. Depending on the floor the session can be done barefoot.
How many people and how long?
A taster workshop is 60–75 minutes; eight to ten people per instructor, station layout up to 30 people. A weekly programme runs 6–8 weeks for a local team and can be combined with corporate fitness packages.
