Corporate Year-End and New Year Events in Turkey: Company Programmes and Parties
A look back and an awards ceremony, an end-of-year party with activity corners, an afternoon of sport followed by dinner, or a new year retreat in January: we run your company’s year-end and new year event end to end, from venue to awards.
A corporate year-end event is the best-attended date in the company calendar, and it differs from other events in one respect: recognition is the real content, and sport and games sit inside that frame. We choose the format to suit your team, book an indoor venue, and plan the awards, activity stations, stage and sound and catering as one flow. For companies that cannot fit it into December, we set up a retreat or a 2027 kick-off in the first weeks of the new year.

How do you plan a corporate year-end event?
Short answer: A corporate year-end event works best in three parts: a short look back told through moments, an awards ceremony of no more than 15 minutes, and a sport, games or dance section that lifts the pace. Because the last week of December loses attendance to annual leave and year-end closing, the date goes in the middle of the month; winter means the programme is held indoors, and the venue is put on hold in September or October. For companies that cannot fit it into December, a new year retreat or a 2027 kick-off after mid-January is a good alternative.
This page is for HR, internal communications and procurement teams planning a company year-end event, an end-of-year or holiday season party, or a new year opening event. Below you will find a comparison of formats, the realities of the December calendar, a booking timeline and the lines that drive the budget. For every other format, see our full corporate events catalogue.
Which year-end or new year format suits you?
| Format | Duration | Group size | When is it right? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year-end programme: look back + awards ceremony + sport and games | An evening or half a day | 25–500 | When you want to share the year’s moment of recognition with the whole company; long-service, project and appreciation awards at the centre |
| Company new year party with games and activity corners | A flow of about three hours: welcome, shared section, open DJ set | 25–500 | When no formal section is wanted, or awards are given at a separate meeting; a social programme first |
| New year sports event: sport in the afternoon, dinner and awards in the evening | Sport for no more than 2 hours, followed by the evening programme | 6–60 | Departments and mid-sized teams; when you do not want an evening spent entirely sitting down |
| New year team-building retreat | Two days, residential; January–February | 8–50 | For leadership and department teams, to combine goal alignment and team bonding in one programme; separate department retreats above 50 people |
| Winter and indoor activity day: bowling tournament, darts, escape room, ice skating, VR | Half a day | Depends on the format; e.g. bowling 20–150, escape room 6–100 | When no suitable December date is available, or for a winter programme spread from November to March |
| 2027 kick-off: annual opening meeting + sport | Half or full day; your company runs the meeting section | Scales with the number of participants | When new-year goals are shared with the whole team; a sport and activity section after the meeting keeps the day alive |
The realities of the December calendar
In many sectors December is the busiest month of the year: closing, stock counts and campaign periods all fall in the same weeks. Squeeze the event into that rush and attendance drops. Settle these five points at the start:
- Date: The middle of the month is preferred. The last week loses a noticeable share of attendance to annual leave and year-end closing.
- Venue: For hotel ballrooms and event centres, December evenings, especially Thursdays and Fridays, are among the most requested dates of the year; put a hold on early.
- Weather: Outdoor activities are unreliable at this time of year, so the programme is designed for indoors. If there is a sport section, ceiling height and flooring count when choosing the venue.
- Clothing: If guests move from sport to an evening programme, showers and changing facilities are planned.
- The January option: Moving the event to January helps with venue availability and cost. The first two weeks, however, see weak attendance as people return from leave; choose dates after 15 January and outside the mid-term school holiday week.
When should you book? Timeline for the 2026 year-end and 2027 kick-off
| Period | What happens | Why |
|---|---|---|
| September–October 2026 | Choose the format, estimated headcount and date range; get a quote and put the venue and date on hold | Mid-December evenings and large halls are the first dates to go |
| November 2026 | Final headcount, running order, menu and award list; invitations and sign-up; photos and video collected for the look-back film | Award categories and the highlights film take the most preparation time |
| December 2026 | Delivery, ideally mid-month | The last week loses attendance to annual leave and year-end closing |
| January–February 2027 | 2027 kick-off, new year team-building retreat or winter activity day | Attendance recovers after 15 January; Uludağ, Kartepe, Kartalkaya, Abant and thermal resorts are the usual retreat locations |

How do you keep an awards ceremony engaging?
- The 15-minute rule: The length of the ceremony is set by the number of guests; attention drops once it passes 15 minutes. If there are many awards, group the categories or move some to department gatherings.
- Moments, not numbers: The look back becomes the most-watched part of the evening when it is told through a short edit of photos and videos taken during the year.
- The right order: The formal part (look back and ceremony) comes first, and the sport and games section then lifts the pace. The other way round, the ceremony lands on a tired room.
- Categories: Long-service, project and appreciation awards; team or project awards alongside individual ones bring more people on stage.
- Shot list: Most of the event’s internal comms output comes from photos and video, so plan the shots before the programme starts.
How do you include hybrid and remote teams?
Match the date to the day most teams are in the office and send the invitation early. For teams in other cities, small local programmes can run on the same day; we organise events in all 81 provinces of Turkey. The ceremony can be streamed to remote offices through your company’s own meeting set-up. One of the few formats that also includes fully remote staff is a corporate esports tournament, which can be run in the office or online.
Three details for an inclusive company new year party
Visible alcohol-free options, music set at a level that still allows conversation, and voluntary attendance are details that corporate parties often overlook, yet they directly decide how broad participation is. Games corners such as darts, table football, pool, console games and a photo booth give something to do to guests who do not dance, who are uneasy in a crowd or who arrive early, and stop the party being limited to one group. A year-end event also means more to the team when it is framed as the close of a year-long plan of employee motivation events.

Year-end event timeline: what to do when
December is the busiest month of the year for venues and suppliers. Plan backwards.
| Period | What to do | Note |
|---|---|---|
| October | Date, headcount and a venue option | The critical step for the last two weeks of December |
| November | Programme, awards and the sports/games section confirmed | Invitations and RSVPs begin |
| December, weeks 1–2 | The easiest period for the event | Wider choice of venues and suppliers |
| December, weeks 3–4 | The busiest period | Consider weekday evenings; early booking is essential |
| January | A “new year kick-off” alternative | Less pressure on venues; combines with new targets |
Smaller in-office new year activities (game and activity corners, a mini tournament) can be set up at a few days’ notice in December.
What a year-end or new year event includes
Venue selection and set-up
A hotel ballroom, event centre, indoor sports hall or your company’s own large space; chosen by ceiling height and flooring if there is a sport section, with seating and floor layout.
Running order and host
A minute-by-minute flow for the look back, awards ceremony, sport or games section and open programme, run by a corporate host (MC).
Awards and branding
Trophies, plaques and medals for long-service, project and appreciation awards; company-branded stage visuals, signage and a photo corner.
Sport and games stations
Station games, darts, bowling, table tennis, dodgeball or a short volleyball or futsal tournament: indoor formats that get many people moving in a short time.
Activity corners for the party
Table football, pool, console games, a VR experience and a photo booth; something to do for those who do not dance and those who arrive early.
Stage, sound, lighting and DJ
Sound and lighting, an event DJ, a stage for a dance workshop or show; presentation and video set-up for the ceremony.
Food and drink
Dinner, cocktail reception or buffet; visible alcohol-free options and special menus such as vegan and gluten-free.
Photo, video and internal comms
Help gathering material for the look-back film, photo and video coverage on the day, and a short highlights video for internal communications.
How the quote takes shape
The cost of a year-end or new year event depends on headcount, venue, date and how many sections the programme has, which is why there are no prices on this page. The quote is settled in three steps.
Format, date and headcount
Your estimated headcount, preferred date range (mid-December or January) and city set the format: year-end programme, new year party, sport plus dinner, retreat or kick-off.
Venue and flow
Indoor venue options and holds; the length and order of the look back, awards, sport and games section and open programme.
Scope and quote
Activity stations, catering, awards and branding, stage, sound and DJ, photo and video, and transport are chosen line by line; the quote arrives within 24 hours, itemised, in TRY, USD or EUR.
What drives the budget
When comparing quotes for a year-end event, check that each of these lines is itemised. Instead of figures, we show what changes the cost and why; our quote lists the same lines one by one.
| Line | What it covers | Effect on the budget |
|---|---|---|
| Headcount | Hall size, table layout, number of stations and staff. | The multiplier for per-person lines (catering, gifts); hall and set-up change in steps. |
| Venue and date | Type of hall, city, day and time. | December evenings, especially Thursdays and Fridays, are the busiest and most expensive dates; earlier weekday slots or January dates give more flexibility. Using your own space reduces the venue line. |
| Duration and number of sections | Evening only, afternoon sport plus evening, or a two-day retreat. | Each extra section means extra staff, set-up and catering; a residential retreat also adds accommodation. |
| Activity stations | Sport and games section, party games corners, VR, dance workshop. | Varies with the number and type of stations; stations that need equipment and instructors increase this line. |
| Food and drink | Dinner, buffet or cocktail reception; drinks package, special menus. | Usually the largest per-person line; menu type and drinks scope are decisive. |
| Awards and branding | Trophies, plaques, medals, gifts; stage and venue visuals. | Depends on the number of awards and personalised production; production lead times mean ordering early. |
| Stage, sound and DJ | Sound and lighting, stage, DJ, host, video screening. | Lower if the venue’s own equipment is enough; a ceremony with video needs extra screens and a technical crew. |
| Transport | Office-to-venue transfers and return; travel for an out-of-town retreat. | Set by distance, number of vehicles and timing; return transfers after an evening programme support attendance and safety. |
The quote arrives within 24 hours, itemised, in TRY, USD or EUR. Our events run on a TÜRSAB A-12558 licensed travel agency framework.
