Company Dinner Sports Activities
Dinner is already booked; a 60–90 minute activity before or after it mixes the tables and opens the conversation.
The problem with a company dinner is not the food but the seating: everyone sits next to someone they know, tables split by department, and by the end of the night nobody has spoken to anyone new. A 60-minute activity before dinner breaks that pattern — by the time people sit down, they have something in common to talk about.

Three rules for adding sport to a dinner
First, clothing. Nobody coming to dinner wants to change. The activity has to work in business or evening wear: bowling, darts, archery, karting (overalls provided), table tennis, a short dance lesson. Anything that makes people sweat, get wet or change shoes does not belong in a dinner programme.
Second, distance. The activity must be in the same venue or within a 10-minute walk or a single coach ride. A group that has to move cars and find parking loses the activity on the way.
Third, duration. 60–90 minutes before dinner, 45–60 after. Longer delays the meal; shorter does not warm people up. A short awards moment is placed mid-dinner and becomes the topic across the tables.
For a visiting delegation or a regional team meeting in Istanbul, this is often the most practical team activity of the trip: it needs no free afternoon, no kit and no second venue, and it sits naturally on the evening the group is already together.
What the dinner programme includes
Venue matching
If the restaurant is fixed, we find an activity venue within walking distance; if not, we propose venues that host both under one roof (bowling + restaurant, kart track + restaurant).
Pre-dinner format
Bowling, karting, archery, darts, table tennis or laser tag; 60–90 minutes, mixed teams, short rotations.
Post-dinner format
A salsa or bachata taster lesson, social dancing with a DJ, or a darts or billiards mini tournament once the seating has loosened.
Mixed team design
Teams are built across departments; the point of the activity is to put people who would not sit together on the same team.
Score and awards moment
The result is announced in a five-minute awards slot between the main course and dessert.
Equipment and instructors
All equipment the activity needs, an instructor or game leader; for dancing, an instructor couple and a sound system.
Flow management
Assembly, activity, the move to dinner and the close are announced by one moderator; timings are agreed with the caterer.
Safety and liability
A safety briefing, health declaration and insurance for formats like karting and archery; the alcohol rule is written down (activity first, drinks after).
