Instructor-led riding in an arena and on a forest trail: city facilities, built for complete beginners, in half a day.
The riding centres around Istanbul make a horse riding experience possible without leaving the city. The programme starts in the arena — an enclosed indoor or outdoor training area — which is markedly more controlled than starting in open country and far more suitable for beginners.
An arena is a bounded and enclosed space. The horse stays within the instructor's field of view, and if a participant loses control the animal does not move away. The ground is also even, so the risk of stumbling is low. In corporate groups the first experience always begins in the arena, after which participants who want to and are judged ready move to a short forest or open-country trail.
This is the version of horse riding to choose when the group has no riding background and the programme is Istanbul-based. Instruction is available in English, and because it runs in a controlled arena the outcome does not depend on the weather or on participants having ridden before. If your team is travelling to Cappadocia as part of the same trip, the valley riding programme there is a genuinely different experience rather than a repeat — that one is a trail ride, this one is a lesson.
Helmets are mandatory without exception. Closed shoes with a heel are required; trainers can slip through the stirrup. Horses are never approached from behind — this rule is emphasised specifically in the briefing. Not recommended for participants with back or neck conditions, or those who are pregnant.
Employee safety is paramount across all our team building and sports experience operations. All technical gear (including CE and UIAA-certified helmets, harnesses, life vests, radios, or racing systems) meets stringent international safety benchmarks. Courses are facilitated by licensed instructors, federation trainers, and certified outdoor guides. Prior to activity commencement, comprehensive safety briefings are delivered, with certified first-aid paramedics stationed on site.
Every program is tailored to your team's age profile, physical readiness, and strategic objectives (such as cross-silo trust, problem solving, or decompression). Progressive difficulty tracks ensure even first-time beginners participate with confidence. Accommodating intimate executive offsites of 15 leaders up to company-wide festivals of 300+ delegates, simultaneous squad rotations guarantee seamless engagement.
All operations are backed by our TÜRSAB Group A-12558 licensed corporate travel agency accreditation. Share your expected headcount, date window, and add-on preferences (executive VIP shuttles, outdoor banquets, or luxury resort accommodation), and we deliver your official formal proposal within 24 hours. Direct corporate billing is supported in USD, EUR, or TRY for global clients.
Most participants are in exactly this group. The programme begins with meeting the horse and proceeds on a lead rein in the arena. Nobody is left alone with a horse at any point, and this is the reason the arena format is used rather than starting on a trail.
Long trousers (jeans are fine) and closed shoes with a heel; trainers are not recommended because they can slip through the stirrup. Helmets are supplied by the facility and are mandatory. Send this with the invitation so people travelling in pack accordingly.
It depends on the number of horses at the facility; typically 8-12 work simultaneously. Larger groups participate in rotation, with a parallel activity at the facility — archery, or a refreshment area — planned for those waiting. This shapes the schedule, so confirm horse numbers when the group size is set.
It is not recommended for people with back or neck conditions, those who are pregnant, or anyone with a horse allergy. Participants who are afraid of animals are not pushed; they can join the ground-based introduction and take part in the programme without riding.
