Overview

Short answer: Our Antalya Sailing Experience is a half-day, full-day or sunset programme in which your group boards sailing yachts at the old harbour in Kaleiçi or at a marina around Kemer and sails along a coast where the Taurus Mountains drop straight into the sea, with an instructor on every boat, a swim stop in a bay and lunch on deck. The season is long — from spring well into autumn — and in the summer heat we sail in the morning or late afternoon. Groups can range from 4 to 150 people, and we build the sail around your resort, incentive or congress schedule.

Why sailing in Antalya works for corporate groups

Antalya is the part of Turkey (Türkiye) where corporate groups already are. The large resorts at Lara and Belek host congresses, dealer meetings, product launches and incentive trips through much of the year, and many international companies hold their regional meetings here precisely because flights, hotels and conference space all come together in one place. As a result, sailing in Antalya is rarely a stand-alone event. More often it is the half day that lifts a busy programme: the team finishes the morning session, heads out to sea after lunch and is back at the hotel in time for the gala dinner.

The setting is unlike Turkey’s Aegean coast. Around Kemer, the Taurus Mountains rise almost from the shoreline; from the deck you see green, pine-covered slopes climbing to high grey peaks, with deep blue, very clear water below. Leaving from Kaleiçi, the backdrop is the walled old town above the cliffs, the harbour itself and the long sweep of Konyaaltı beach towards the mountains. Either way, the view does a lot of the work.

For groups staying at Belek, the better departure depends on the hotel’s location and on the rest of the day, and we confirm it in the quote.

Sailing from Kaleiçi

Kaleiçi’s old harbour sits at the foot of the city walls, so a sail from here begins in the middle of Antalya’s history. Once outside the harbour, the yachts follow the cliffs in one direction or the other: west along Konyaaltı with the mountains ahead, or east towards Lara. This is the most practical option for city-centre and Lara hotels, and the natural choice for a sunset sail followed by dinner in the old town.

Kemer sailing for groups

Kemer is where Antalya’s coast is at its most dramatic. A full day from a marina around Kemer typically heads south along the shore, past pine forest running down to small bays, with time to anchor, swim in very clear water and have lunch on deck before sailing back in the afternoon breeze. For resort groups staying between Beldibi and Tekirova, the transfer to the marina is short, which leaves more of the day for the water.

Formats

  • Sailing adventure: Sailing, anchoring in a bay, swimming and lunch on board, with no competition — the easiest format for mixed-seniority groups.
  • Sunset sail: A late-afternoon departure from Kaleiçi, the sun going down behind the Taurus Mountains, then dinner in the old town.
  • Sailing training: Short theory ashore, repeated tacks and sail-trim drills on the water, over one or two days — ideal for leadership groups with time to spare after a congress.
  • Mini sailing skills race: After a practice sail, teams complete manoeuvre tasks on a short course, with scoring and an awards ceremony. Not an official regatta — an instructor-led team game designed for people who have never sailed before.

A long season, with summer heat to plan around

Antalya’s great advantage is the length of its season. April and May, September, October and, in many years, the first half of November are excellent for sailing, and the sea is usually warm enough for most people to swim through much of that period — which makes Antalya one of the few places in Turkey where a corporate sailing day in late autumn is realistic. That is useful for congress organisers, whose calendars often fall outside the peak summer months.

From June to August, midday heat is the main factor. In those months we move the sail to the early morning or late afternoon, plan shade on deck, plenty of water and sun protection, and keep the time in the strongest sun short. The afternoon sea breeze that builds along the coast usually gives enough wind to sail properly. The final call on conditions is made by the instructor at a decision time agreed in advance, and if the day is not suitable we move to a reserve date.

Fitting sailing into a resort, incentive or congress programme

Most corporate groups in Antalya are working to a tight hotel schedule, so we plan the sail around it rather than the other way round. Typical slots are a half day between sessions, a sunset sail before the gala night, or a full day on the free day after a congress. For larger groups we spread participants across several yachts and, if needed, two time slots, so that one half of the group can be on the water while the other is at a different activity, with everyone swapping over after lunch.

If you are still choosing hotels and dates, our Antalya corporate retreat guide covers seasons and locations in more depth, and for the whole trip — flights, hotels, activities and gala — see our incentive travel programmes.

A day ashore: the Antalya treasure hunt

For groups who want a land-based team activity alongside the sail, our Antalya treasure hunt is a natural partner. Teams of 5–8 go treasure hunting through the narrow lanes of Kaleiçi with clue cards or phone-based tasks, photo challenges and questions about the old town’s history. A popular combination is the treasure hunt in the morning and a sunset sail from the same harbour in the evening, or the hunt on one day and a full day of sailing from Kemer on the next.

Safety on board

  • An instructor on every boat, who runs the yacht and guides participants through the helm and line-handling roles.
  • Life jackets for everyone and a safety briefing on board before departure; swimming is always optional.
  • In summer, shade, water and sun protection are part of the plan, and time in the midday sun is kept short.
  • A decision time and a reserve date, with weather calls made by the instructor.

Getting there

Antalya Airport receives direct flights from many European cities, and both Kaleiçi and the Kemer coast are reached from it by road. Most groups, though, come to the marina straight from their hotel, so we plan transfers around the resort’s location and group size. All briefings and guidance are in English, and for teams coming to Turkey from abroad we can arrange accommodation, airport transfers and the rest of the programme through our DMC services in Turkey.

How Antalya compares with other coasts

If a steady, stronger breeze and a genuinely “sailing” day matter most, look at corporate sailing in Çeşme. For sheltered bays and overnight boat programmes, see our Bodrum corporate sailing experience. Antalya’s strengths are the length of the season, the mountain scenery and how easily sailing fits into a resort or congress programme. To compare every format and coast side by side, start with our corporate sailing hub.

What shapes the quote

  • Number of participants and therefore number of yachts
  • Departure point (Kaleiçi or Kemer) and hotel–marina transfers
  • Format and length, and the time slot within your congress or hotel schedule
  • Refreshments on board, lunch or dinner
  • Photography and video, awards ceremony
  • Date flexibility and a reserve day

Send these details through our quote request form and we will reply within 24 hours with an itemised proposal in TRY, USD or EUR.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go sailing in Antalya?

April–May and September–October are the most balanced months, and in many years the first half of November works well too. From June to August we sail in the early morning or late afternoon because of the heat.

Should we sail from Kaleiçi or Kemer?

Kaleiçi suits groups staying in the city centre or at Lara and is the natural choice for a sunset sail. Kemer suits resort groups along the Kemer–Tekirova coast and full days with a bay stop. For Belek, it depends on the hotel’s location.

Can it fit between congress sessions?

Yes. We can plan a half day between sessions, a sunset sail before the gala night or a full day after the congress. Larger groups are spread across several yachts and, if needed, two time slots.

Can people with no sailing experience join?

Yes. There is an instructor on every boat who runs the yacht, and participants take turns at the helm and on the lines under their guidance. Swimming is optional.

Is there a limit on group size?

We plan for groups of 4 to 150. A team of four can sail on a single yacht; larger groups are spread across several boats that sail together.

Can we do a competitive format?

We can run an instructor-led mini sailing skills race on a short course, with manoeuvre tasks, scoring and an awards ceremony. It is a friendly team game designed for non-sailors rather than an official race.
