The Turkey Finance Football Cup is a sector-specific football tournament for banks, insurers, portfolio managers, payment systems and financial technology companies.
Competition between institutions in finance is part of daily business, but it is rarely made visible. The cup converts it into a concrete fixture. Because employee engagement and employer-brand competition run high in this sector, the tournament is an investment with a direct return on the HR side — institutions feature their teams prominently in internal communications.
International banks with Turkish branches, insurers operating through a local entity and fintechs with an engineering or operations hub in Turkey all enter through that local entity; this is a Turkey competition, not one a regional team flies in for. What it offers a regional people or country lead is an engagement activity that the local market recognises, run alongside the exact institutions your Turkish staff would otherwise move to. In a sector where retention is the whole problem, that is not a small thing.
The constraint that decides participation here is not shift work but period-end closes. Month-end, quarter-end and especially year-end closes are when hours lengthen for finance and reporting teams. A fixture falling in those weeks produces walkovers.
The cup calendar is therefore built outside quarter-end closes, with match days concentrated in the first half of the month. Audit periods are also taken into account in the planning.
Fixture and referee management, a medical officer on site, team kit, and photography and video on match days. After the final day prize ceremony, a closing programme open to representatives of the participating institutions is held.

Banks, insurance and pension companies, portfolio and asset management institutions, payment systems and financial technology companies. Teams are made up of the institution's own payroll employees, and international groups enter through their Turkey entity.
The calendar is built outside those periods from the start; month-end, quarter-end and year-end close weeks are excluded from the fixture. For unexpected workload a right to postpone is defined and a reserve week is held in the fixture.
Yes. Weekend slots are included in the fixture so that staff outside head office can play. Where institutions span several cities, regional groups are formed and the final is played in one city.
Because the finance sector concentrates on particular office and business centre axes, pitches are chosen in those districts. For Istanbul entries, separate groups can be formed for the two sides of the city.
Requests to take part are sent through the quote form. In the conversation, the number of teams, the balance between head office and branch participation and suitable periods are confirmed, and the fixture is built from that.
