A corporate sailing experience is a day on the water built around sailing, a bay stop, swimming and lunch on deck, with no competition and no curriculum. The purpose is to bring the team together somewhere outside the office where phones do not get a signal. The only expectation of participants is that they are on the boat; those who want to take the helm do, and those who want to sit on deck do.
This is the safest format for mixed-seniority groups and for a company's first corporate event at sea: the physical threshold is low, nobody can fail, and participation happens on its own.
A fair question, because a significant share of programmes sold as "sailing trips" motor from start to finish. When the wind is suitable, sails are hoisted and participants can genuinely take part in sailing; when the wind is too light or too strong, the engine is used. Which applies is stated clearly at the start of the programme — managing expectations is the single biggest factor in satisfaction with this format.
Comfort is the priority in this format, so 8–12 participants per boat works well. Seating space on deck is directly related to headcount, and overloading a boat is the most commonly raised complaint about the day. A group of 40 is typically split across four boats sailing together.
The Gökova, Göcek and Fethiye coast is the most suitable region thanks to its many sheltered bays: the water is calm, swimming stops are possible and the risk of seasickness is low. Çeşme and Ayvalık are also suitable, while the Istanbul Bosphorus and the Princes' Islands are preferred for short half-day programmes. The season runs from April to October, with June and September offering the best balance of temperature and crowds.
Headcount, date, preferred region and a budget band are enough. Transfers, accommodation, catering menu, photo and video production and a sound system are added on request.

No. The only expectation is being on the boat. Those who wish can take the helm and handle lines with the instructor; others can simply sit on deck. There is no expectation of physical performance and nobody can fail, which makes this the safest format for mixed-seniority groups.
No. Entering the water is entirely optional and life jackets are available. Non-swimmers simply need to be declared at registration.

Meeting and refreshments at the marina, safety briefing, hoisting sails and sailing, anchoring in a bay for a swim, a long lunch on deck, and the return sail towards sunset with a photo session.

Mixed age and seniority groups, teams with no expectation of physical performance, year-end reward and celebration programmes, gatherings for remote teams, and onboarding days for new team members.
Medication should be taken about an hour before departure, and participants should stay on deck rather than in the cabin and watch the horizon. Routes through sheltered bays reduce this risk markedly, which is why Gökova and Göcek are preferred.
Non-slip shoes, a hat, a sunglasses retainer, high-factor sunscreen and a windbreaker. Swimwear and a towel if swimming. Layers are recommended for spring and autumn programmes.
