A corporate airsoft experience is a half-day format in which the team tries airsoft for the first time. Airsoft differs from paintball in its lower impact and more realistic equipment.
10–20 players take the field at a time; in a rotation format 20–40 participants are covered in half a day. For the scenario-based, full-day format see the Corporate Airsoft Team Event programme.

Airsoft uses 6 mm plastic BBs; they leave no paint and the impact is lower. Because there is no paint mark, a player who is hit calls it themselves — the game runs on honesty. Overalls are not required, long sleeves are enough, and the longer range makes play more tactical.
Eye protection is never removed on the field — the most serious risk in airsoft is eye injury and this is the only safeguard. Outside play the safety is on and the muzzle points at the ground. The minimum engagement distance applies, with a "hand elimination" rule at close quarters. Replicas are not carried uncased off the field.

Long sleeves and closed shoes are recommended. Because nothing stains, overalls are not required; masks compatible with prescription glasses are provided.
