The serve and the bump are basic movements learned in a short introductory session. A 45-minute technical session can be planned before the first week of a corporate league; it noticeably reduces the service error rate in the opening matches.
In mixed amateur corporate leagues the official men's height of 2.43 m is often too high. Depending on the make-up of the teams, around 2.35 m or the women's height of 2.24 m is preferred. The decision is taken with the agreement of all teams before the league and does not change during the season.
Four is the lower limit. Because volleyball matches finish in a more predictable time than basketball or football, two or three matches can be played comfortably in one hall in an evening, which makes eight-team leagues possible with a single hall.
Collision-related injury risk is low because there is no contact. Ankle and knee strains from jumping and landing can still occur. A warm-up section is built into the programme and indoor court shoes are recommended.
