Pit Wall: Strategy on a Racing Simulator
Teams run a racing team on a fixed budget: they plan, read the data and rebuild the plan when the unexpected happens.
Training in which participants decide on data they generate themselves — and see the outcome of a gut-feel decision and a data-driven one side by side on the same field.
Our data-driven decision making training helps teams choose which data to look at, read it and decide while weighing risk. It is not a software or statistics course: participants generate their own data in short skill and accuracy tests, decide on that data and compare the outcome with intuitive decisions. It runs with one facilitator and up to 30 people in a meeting room for 3–4 hours.

Short answer: Many organisations have data, yet decisions are still made on the most senior person’s instinct. Data-driven decision making training turns asking the right question, choosing the data that answers it, weighing risk and probability and measuring the outcome afterwards into a team habit.
Exercises on a ready-made spreadsheet feel distant. In this programme the data comes from participants’ own performance, so they see first-hand how data is collected and why it can mislead. When a team built on instinct meets a team built on data on the same field, the difference needs no debate.
Leadership teams, sales and marketing, finance and investment, HR and recruitment, operations managers. It can be combined with our problem solving and decision making programme for uncertainty-heavy needs, or our strategic thinking and planning training for a strategic view.
Clarifying which question must be answered before deciding.
Separating the data that really affects the decision from the noise.
Weighing expected value between a risky and a safe option.
Seeing how small samples, a single success and confirmation bias skew decisions.
Setting a success indicator for every decision up front.
A concrete plan for the team’s first data-driven decisions in its own work.
Each programme runs with one facilitator and a group of up to 30 in a meeting room, in 3–4 hours. The running order and materials are shared at proposal stage and adapted to your organisation.

Making a contested call, explaining it and handling the appeal.
Analysing a competitor the way a coach does — for sales and marketing.
A short self-assessment on the chosen competencies is taken at the start and end of the programme. Team-level results are handed to HR in the closing report.
